Over-indebtedness of young people in the Czech Republic

The master's thesis "Over-indebtedness of Young Generation in the Czech Republic" deals with over-indebtedness of individuals at the age of 18 to 26 years. Over-indebtedness is a general social problem as all age groups get overburdened with debt. However, it is important to focus on the issue of young people's over-indebtedness directly because the young generation represents people who are or will be active in the general working process. The authoress of the thesis points out the young generation's over-indebtedness and provides an overview of development of this issue in 2008 - 2015. She also examines the most frequent causes which she has found out using questionnaires and data collected. In her work, the authoress also outlines a gradual development of possible indebtedness, which primarily includes loans, from both banks and other institutions, followed by a court procedure and execution of the judgement. A possible solution to over-indebtedness then consists in filing a petition with a court to permit a personal discharge from debts. Social Context of Personal Bankruptcy Debtors in the Central Region

Major aim of this bachelor thesis is to discuss the issue of debtors that apply for personal bankruptcy. Region wise will this paper cover the Central Bohemian region and the debtors living in this area. Theoretical part explains the main theories and processes that are crucial for understanding the issue of insolvency. Further will be introduced the insolvency law; and the reasons and factors that lead to a personal indebtedness and a personal bankruptcy. The practical part focuses on debtors from the Central Bohemian Region and provides thorough characteristics of these debtors. Several case studies will be presented, in order to demonstrate the reasons for indebtedness and to depict the insolvency process on the real cases. Financial education as a prevention against over-indebtedness of Czech households

The diploma work 'Financial education as prevention against over-indebtedness of Czech households' deals with the issue of constantly rising over-indebtedness. In the Czech Republic the number of people who find themselves in financial shortcoming due to over- indebtedness has recently raised. When we compare the Czech Republic with the advanced countries in the European Union, we find out the over-indebtedness is not so high. What is, however, alarming is its dynamics in the recent years. These figures are confirmed with statistic data. The phenomenon of consumer loans started to develop in the late 1990's when the first negative consequences, i.e. social and psychological impact, and distraints, which had not been known so far, appeared for the first time. Mortgages are seen as relatively healthy form of debt because their reimbursement is not as problematic as it is with the consumer loans. Investment into living is considered as long-lasting. There are several possibilities how to cope with debts. Analysis of consumption and indebtedness of Czech households

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the development of the consumption and indebtedness of the Czech households from 1993 up to 2014. Another aim is to find out if there is any connection between those two values and how strong that connection is. As the main methods for the fulfilment of the goals are the regressive and correlation analyses and a semi-structured questionnaire as well. The questionnaire involves also association tables for the answers to the research questions. Data used in this analysis were found in commonly accessible sources published on the websites of the Czech Statistical Office and the Czech National Bank. The research shows the permanent growth of the consumption of the households since 1993. The indebtedness of the households slightly oscillated in the 90s and started to grow permanently since 1999-2000. It was found out there is a strong connection between the consumption and the indebtedness and further the indebtedness of the households in the Czech Republic is really high. That is why there are several possible solutions at the end of this thesis how to decrease the indebtedness.
Insolvency Proceedings and the Institute of Personal Bankruptcy

This Diploma thesis deals with insolvency proceedings with greater focus on the institute of personal bankruptcy. The thesis is divided into eight chapters and aims to provide a theoretical background and legal analysis of insolvency law, its course and kinds of insolvency proceedings with emphasis on the institute of personal bankruptcy. The practical part is based on the analysis of specific insolvency proceedings at the Regional Court in Prague and points out problematic or controversial passages of the Insolvency law, then work suggests legislation, de lege ferenda, along with the creation of a specific set of recommendations and practical information for debtors.
Comparative analysis of credit services of non-bank institutions

The aim of the Bachelor's Thesis is comparative analysis of non-bank loan institutions in the Czech Republic from the consumer perspective. It also intends to put them into context with other related topics and to evaluate the hypothesis of disadvantageousness of non-bank credits in comparison with bank credits. The theoretical part deals with financial literacy, differences between bank and non-bank institutions and results of previous qualitative research of their credit services. Attention is paid to the ethical problem represented by usury. Pawn shops and presentation events are mentioned as well. The thesis focuses on property seizure, personal bankruptcy and debt consultancy of non-profit organisations too. The practical part of the thesis contains comparison of selected non-bank institutions and comparison of a loan product of a concrete bank and one of non-bank company. The practical part also contains comparison of important non-profit debt counselling centres in the Czech Republic in terms of their services and their way of funding. The conclusion of the thesis aims to suggest solutions to risks of non-bank credits for consumers.
An Analysis of Family Finances of Selected Employees and the Way out of Debt

The present diploma thesis deals with the indebtedness of employees of a selected company and the ways to help these employees. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the present situation of the respective company in terms of foreclosure of its employees and, based on this, to propose possible solutions which might help to improve the financial situations of these employees. The sub-aim of the thesis is to define the reasons for indebtedness as well as to assess the level of financial literacy of selected employees. The thesis is divided into two parts: a theoretical and an analytical one. The thesis uses the following research methods: analysis, semi-structured interview, written questionnaire and secondary document analysis.
Insolvency Law in Practice - Personal Bankruptcy

Thesis on "Insolvency Law in Practice - Personal Bankruptcy" deals with a form of resolving insolvency or impending insolvency of due non-business entities, and that is the debt relief so-called personal bankruptcy. This thesis monitors the amount of submitted and rejected proposals to permit discharge and summarizes the most common reasons for their submissions and errors in the rejected proposals. The thesis analyzes the development of debt relief since 2008 with a focus on southern Bohemia. The conclusion is mentioned debt relief legislation in Austria.
Comparison of consumer credit with regard to the methodology for calculating the APR

Trends in Indebtedness of Czech Households

The bachelor thesis deals with indebtedness of households in the Czech Republic. At first, specifics of consumer loans and mortgage loans, which are mostly used by households, are explained. The following two chapters are the main subject of the thesis. The evolution and structure of household indebtedness in recent years are analyzed in them, as well as some factors are evaluated that could influence the evolution of household indebtedness. The last part of the thesis is devoted to over-indebtedness and the issue of personal bankruptcies, the use of which has lately been growing.
